A warrant for murder has been issued for the arrest of a man described as a Trang big shot gangster after a shooting incident at a downtown nightclub in Trang in southern Thailand on Tuesday morning.

Siriphon "Neung" Taemprasit, 22, was hit three times in the chest and left side and died.

Eight others were injured by stray bullets as CCTV footage showed patrons at the packed Mahanakhon@Trang dive under tables for cover.

Police found 11mm bullets and shell casings all over the pub.

Thai Rath reported that an argument broke out in front of a stage between two groups.

The shooter is a well known customer of the pub called Chayaphon or Arkhom Siapmai, aged 34.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for the Trang native.

Thai Rath said he was a local big shot gangster who previously faced murder charges.

Simple.  If you want to stay alive then stay out of big bars with lots of Thai men.

Especially after midnight once the whiskey has had a chance to kick in on top of the Yabba.....

Like the gunfight at the ok corral.

It`s getting worse here. Remember watching the video of a girl being carried out a bar by 4 men who was taken away in a pick up, gang raped and murdered and now this incident.

If this shooter is a so-called big time gangster then I guess he is well connected and wonder if he`ll ever face justice. One way to avoid such incidents is to have security guards standing at each entrance of these clubs and frisking each customer for weapons before allowing them entry into the clubs.  But as one poster has mentioned, best to avoid these Thai orientated establishments.
