TomJoad
Formula I is a worldwide company that claims to teach students how to design and build a model race car, test it in wind tunnels, then compete with other schools. They are in several schools already in the Bangkok area. Their program is supposed to teach students basic principles in science such as speed, computer design, friction (drag), wind tunnels, model building, etc. I've heard mixed reviews on them so far. Does anyone here have any first-hand experience with this company? Thanks.
BobbyL
It was great fun when we used it last year (not in a Thai school). It isn't cheap though to get all the resources to make it successful. We have an annual STEM week and for that year the kids made their own F1 cars and then were able to test them against each other on a specially made track in school. The F1 staff who came in to assist were brilliant. I know the kids in secondary have entered competitions and been abroad to race against other countries but not sure how that is organised. ozmeldo
There are a few techy STEM / STEAM centers popping up. I'm not sure what to make of them besides being expensive
