Or, you can hop a 1 hour flight and have clean beaches all 12 months in Songkhla. This photo on Samila Beach was taken the day after a huge storm blew through. Normally the water is a beautiful blue-green. Shameless plug for my favorite Thai beach town, and perhaps a nudge to all the other Thailand beach towns who don't seem to know it can be done...
