If you build that close to a sandy beach, inevitably the sand will erode away as the natural forces that caused the beach are split in half.

Or, you can hop a 1 hour flight and have clean beaches all 12 months in Songkhla.  This photo on Samila Beach was taken the day after a huge storm blew through.  Normally the water is a beautiful blue-green.

 

Shameless plug for my favorite Thai beach town, and perhaps a nudge to all the other Thailand beach towns who don't seem to know it can be done...
