webfact
Chinese tourist dies after being swept out to sea in Koh Samet Picture: Sanook A 37 year old Chinese man was swept out to sea by a large wave while playing in the water with his wife at Nai Na bay on Koh Samet on Thursday. The wife, named Chor, called desperately for help and other tourists and officials responded and dragged Lu Song from the sea. He was unconscious but was revived and taken to Koh Samet hospital. However, his condition worsened and he was transferred to the mainland and Rayong Hospital where he later died. Resort owner Natthawut Nunphakdee told Sanook that the couple had arrived on Wednesday and said on Thursday morning they would be checking out later in the day. They hired a motorcycle to tour the island and went to Nai Na bay. Police from the mainland at Ban Phe concluded that it was a case of drowning due to high waves at the beach in question.
