Now, these are the sort of people Thailand has to get rid of, and stop making an example of the dreamers over stayers who believe they're in paradise.

Garbage post. They're all breaking the law - in that respect, there is no difference between pedos, murderers, corrupt officials, thieves and other people who commit crimes.

He was not named but faces 5 years in jail and a 100,000 baht fine

So about the same punishment if you are a graffiti artist, which

were named, but is alleged pedo is not .

but more than if you kill someone and are rich and connected.????

Lumping every criminal into one box is certainly well, small box thinking.

The laws in fact in just about every country in the world certainly disagree with you.

Immigration chief Maj-Gen Surachate "Big Joke" Hakparn was pictured on the IB site on a board related to the crime but not mentioned as having played a role in the arrests on this occasion.

Mmmm..............perhaps he was feeling "left out" or one of his minions is sucking up?

The Scouse vandal admitted his crime and was clearly guilty.  As disgusting and hateful as this man seems to be, he has not yet been found guilty of a very serious crime that could destroy the rest of his life. If the case against him should fail why should he be named?

Yes, informed by who? The woman I presume. Arrest of yet another foreigner who doesn't appear to own a shirt.

Do you never go without a shirt in your own home?  Using your logic, the moment you take your shirt off is the moment that you cease to own a shirt also.

If the police confiscate the computer, are they not then guilty of the same crime?

Yes, the Police officer who confiscated the computer should arrest himself , take himself to a police station and put himself in a jail cell and then wait to interview himself and decide whether to charge himself or not

Why did they not name and shame him as they always do here??

I suspect he has contacts high up in the system . And bribed someone.

If anyone knows his name don't hold it back !

"If anyone knows his name don't hold it back !"

Why? Has he been found guilty of anything yet?

Not sure why the report had to mention that

Indeed, if you ever wanted to get rid of someone in Thailand all you would need to do is place some files on their computer. Then 'tip them off' about the 'darknet usage' - instant arrest followed by eventual deportation.

I've heard about this kind of material being sold on the streetside markets of Bangkok, I've never seen it but I've read about it being present many times, on this forum.

Sick.  What is it that brings pedophiles to Thailand?  I happened to run across a tourist in Costa Rica that talked about 14 year old girls. I managed to avoid him for the rest of my trip, even though we were staying in the same hotel. If you can't keep your mitts off underage girls, you need to be castrated.

But he has been arrested, surely he could be named now.?

Why not name him when he has been convicted of something? Why do you want to smear him when, for all we know, he is innocent? That is the presumption, is it not?

Why not name him when he has been arrested ?,which normally happens,

he might be innocent, but the evidence says he has charges to answer,

unless you are trying to defend him?.

It happens sometimes. Doesn't make it right.

I defend the concept of innocent until proven otherwise.

Well he is innocent until proven guilty, but he has been charged

with a heinous crime, so why can he not be named,as happens

with just about every alleged  criminal that is arrested and charged here.

Maybe there's more to it than meets the eye.

I mentioned in my post above that it's very convenient for someone to be using a 'total secrecy network' and get caught due to a tip off.

The whole thing sounds a little suspicious to me.

Not necessarily though. For sure authorities the world over infiltrate those networks, so once they're able to identify someone then regular police can go in and investigate.

People are really stupid.  They think they're secure using an encrypted network, but then as soon as a 'friendly like-minded individual' befriends them there they'll spill everything.

There has been several cases in the last 2 years , I believe access to stateless runaway kids could be a problem , from Burma. And the hill tribe people. Kids without the normal protection.

haha.  yes.  Seems the police manage to surprise the farangs who seem to always be shirtless in their apartments or houses, or else they strip search the guy for the photo session?

Why?  It's very serious allegation, he's not guilty yet, is he?

Not guilty.

I am sure the reason is someone snuck into his room and placed those images on his computer.

The other one I have read on these threads is he took his computer in for repairs and the repair shop downloaded the images without his knowledge.

I am sure a good lawyer can get him off using either one of these reasons.

I think you need to keep up.

Your response now has absolutely nothing to do with my comment as the post I responded to has been deleted.

So, thanks for verifying my point.
