ricklev
I ordered this from Iherb as I thought it would be better than Thai tuna and more ethical. Interesting to see that it was packed in Thailand. That tuna may have been caught in the Atlantic, shipped to Thailand for processing , then to America and now back to Thailand! I don't really know. Do they catch Albacore in Thailand? Do they sell it here? Sent from my SM-J710F using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
ricklev
I guess the Pacific is more likely.
johng
Caught individually with pole and line...shipped to Thailand, packaged, shipped to America then shipped back to Thailand....must cost a fortune ? Not to mention not very "environmentally friendly" burning all that oil shipping it all over.

Albacore is caught in the Coral Triangle (waters off RP/Indonesia): https://www.worldwildlife.org/species/albacore-tuna https://www.worldwildlife.org/places/coral-triangle I doubt that it ever went anywhere near the US. KittenKong
I came across some tinned tuna in Makro the other day, labelled steaks in olive oil. I was deeply suspicious - especially as the price was under 40B/can - but in fact it tasted good and I could even taste the olive oil (even if it surely wasn't 100%).
