webfact
400,000 baht shark net comes loose again: Hua Hin tourists still swimming Picture: Talknewsonline Talknewsonline reported that an expensive shark net installed at Sai Noi Beach in Hua Hin had come loose for the second time. The net was installed in September after a Norwegian tourist was bitten by a shark while swimming off the beach in April. District official Jeerawat Phramanee was at the beach yesterday after a local hotel manager called to say the net had come loose from buoys in heavy seas. Tourists were oblivious to the potential danger. Jeerawat admitted that this was the second time the net had become detached. It would be fixed by next week, he said. The net was installed at a cost of 400,000 baht after much debate following the attack, by what was believed to be a bull shark, on the foot of Mr Werner Danielsen. Mr Danielsen, who has a Thai wife and visits Thailand each year, needed extensive treatment in two hospitals and racked up bills of 300,000 baht. connda
Shark attacks are rare. Much more dangerous to get to the beach using a vehicle than to get in the water.

stud858
That's Buddha telling us that nets should not be used because they kill sea animals. We can kill other life forms as a part of our own wellbeing but let's limit it to insects mice dogs and magpies.
