I viewed some scientist the other day on the DW German news channel.. he's devising a method of underwater bio-dome so humans can live under the oceans when the land becomes over populated...

I wonder where all the waste products will end up ??

There is an easy solution, that will cost a bit more-go back to glass and steel-make all single use items biodegradable.  Of course, plastic composites would still be used to manufacture durable items.  Glass is recyclable and does not leach chemicals.
