What movies or TV shows are you watching (2018)

Recommended Posts

Currently watching Nightflyers (Netflix) about the crew of a space ship heading out to try and contact an alien life form with the help of a dangerous physic but with something hell bent on stopping them.  Really impressed with this one, good plot, good acting and some really interesting spins.

Tv series - Hanna

Didn't mind the pilot for this new series.
Based on the movie of the same name.

Series to be released next month.

Summary: A high-concept thriller and coming-of-age drama, Hanna follows the journey of an extraordinary young girl raised in the forest,  as she evades the relentless pursuit of an off-book CIA agent and tries to unearth the truth behind who she is.

The reviews aren't exactly glowing, and it gets a 6 on iMDB.

Thanks for recommending this (and Thai Chi for agreeing) - Watched and enjoyed the 1st 3 episodes last night, looking forward to watching more that  I've downloaded.

Each episode has some laugh out loud moments, and overall quirky oddball stories and dialogue.

Yeah, prefer to make my own mind up. Absolutely zero interest in reviews, I'd have missed loads of good stuff if I did and have had to endure bucket loads of utter crap to boot. The 'professional' reviewers annoy the hell out me, seem more interested in trying to sound intellectual, deep and different rather than bothering about entertainment. Tastes vary. YMMV.

Have to weed out the chaff from the wheat somehow, too many high rated shows to choose from.

Elite Squad: The Enemy Within.

Not many recent movies are doing it for me.
Watched this one today (with subs) from 2010 and it was pretty good.

Summary: After a prison riot, former-Captain Nascimento, now a high ranking security officer in Rio de Janeiro,
is swept into a bloody political dispute that involves government officials and paramilitary groups.

Also managed to find some English subtitles for the doco about Barcelona and Pep Guardiolas reign there (not to mention others) called "Take the ball, Pass the ball"...........an absolute must for football fans, and some of Messi's goals are beyond belief.

Mourinho wrongly called "the chosen one" because that tag HAS to belong to Lionel Messi.

TV series - Court Justice: Sydney

Enjoying this one at the minute.
All 10 episodes are available.

TPB

Summary: Sydney's Downing Centre and the twelve magistrates who preside, hears over 30,000 cases each year - from minor traffic offences to major assaults. This groundbreaking fixed-rig series takes you inside of one of the world's busiest local courts. It is a world full of emotion and drama, where bad behaviour comes face-to-face with the justice system.

reviews are useful and time saving, better to read a couple of paragrahs than watch something and THEN make youer mind up , not all reviewers are good but some are more reliable than others so its good to sort out the ones you feel comfortable with and feel you can trust , the site  'metacritic' is good one it has links to all reviews pro and amatuer and gives an 'average' score which again is useful, and as for sounding intellectual, i know what you mean however ALL 'arts/disciplines have their own language/ termanology  and the nearer the 'top of the tree' or the core of  the 'industry/subject  the more they use it

Awful film on itunes.

American heist.

Seriously awful film

Another.

American Animals

Really odd film based on real life events. Decent different type of film but the real life people who featured are difficult to relate to/like
