It seems more and movies and TV shows have HEVC torrents now, not sure why. Problem is that my media player doesn't recognise HEVC. Does anyone know how long it takes to convert a torrent from HEVC to H264 format using a free HD converter app.?

Tv series - The Virtues

Looking forward to this one.
Episode one should be available tomorrow or Thursday.

Directed by Shane Meadows and starring Stephen Graham.

Summary:  With no immediate family to live for, Joseph is haunted by a past he has tried, for decades, to forget - if
not actively obscure with drink and drugs.

Just saw the first episode of Chernobyl.

Blood ran cold watching these officials

trying to make light of it. Im sure its gonna be a great series.

Also check out the 3rd season of Follow the Money

Excellent Danish TV series...out on Sno's page

Chernobyl is a must to watch. Brilliant blood chilling TV about a true event that most Europeans, although at a distance, live through.

It is well worth briefly reading up on radiation levels to fully appreciate the the exposure these guys were facing.

Radiation is about exposure time and intensity, just like drinking 2 bottles of vodka in one sitting will most likely kill you, while you can safely enjoy the same 2 bottles of vodka over the course of a year.

Killing Eve (Season 2)

Started watching it last night and was hooked immediately until before I knew it I was 3 episodes in already. I stopped myself and went to bed thinking what I'd just watched over and over in my head.

No spoilers. Just amazing television. As good if not better than season 1. Jodie Comer is just adorable.

Came across an interesting 2-part Brexit documentary done by BBC4 Storyville...

It's called Brexit Behind Closed Doors....shot from the POV of a journalist

embedded with the Euro side. Ive only seen the chaos on the British side.

This was a starkly different vibe....a bunch or smug, arrogant, guys drinking wine,

racing cars and dissing the Brits on camera. Held my interest throughout.

Someone mentioned the movie/series, "Europa: the last battle", and I searched it out as it had some favourable reviews (I think).

Anyway I watched the first three episodes and there were too many things in them that just did not ring true, so I stopped watching the third episode halfway through and started to do my own research and sure enough, most of what I had seen thus far was pure right-wing propaganda myth and really not worth the celluloid it was filmed on.

There were some really outrageous claims and pretty pathetic attempts to tie in various events around the world, and over time, to suit the agenda.

I would be interested to hear what other folks thought about it?!

I fast forwarded through the first 3 episodes and then deleted the whole thing. Time wasting anti-semitic garbage.

I don't mind a good old moon landing conspiracy documentary from time to time, just to remind you that there is a world outside the main stream media, but the pure hate stuff is a waste of time.

I saw some very hard working, talented, committed and very open minded bureaucrats, working very hard in a complex multi language and culture environment.

Truly amazing the time and energy they have spend to find a solution.

Would be very interesting to see a similar open documentary from the other camp.

you're right I did them a disservice....they didnt sound dumb.

I think I was trying to capture the thought that they appeared

like they knew they had the upper hand in the negotiations and

were just sitting back waiting for the other side to make up

their mind. I guess both sides trash talk each other in private.

I was impressed by Michel Barnier...seems like a rock solid

tough negotiator.

I'm halfway through this; it is very, very good.

I've got a 1080 copy, & it makes some of the German countryside shots, amazing.

So far, I give it 9/10.

????

"Never Look Away"

Did you or anyone else get a copy without Google Translate  type subs?

Good subs in standard English, not "I go there may tomorrow yet" type of subs?

I downloaded a 1080 with no subs, the subscene subs were bad.

Also a 720 with subs, the same bad subs though.

It's on TPB, uploaded by 'sotnikam'. Subs were quite good.
