I don't know which is the bigger over-reaction; Liverpool only winning 26 from 28 matches in the league, while being out of the FA Cup to Chelsea or the COVID-19 causing rampant toilet paper pillage of supermarkets here in OZ.

The majority of football clubs have never won a trophy; and never will. Some of us just want to see good football, an exciting game and the occasional win or two. Actually, I must correct myself on that one. In the case of a club winning the Prem League and the FA Cup in the same season (as CIty did) they play the also rans who came second in the Premier League (as this year with Liverpool). So you can actually play in the Charity Shield without winning anything ????

I particularly always admire the Geordies who've won nowt for years, have a very unpopular owner but have massive support. However Spurs are considered one of "the big 6", with the 8th highest revenue IN THE WORLD, and as such should be winning trophies - but they dont. Interestingly; after winning the league in the very early 1970's, Everton were considered to be - alongside Man U - the most successful English club ever. And only recently Man City were in the third tier. How times can change! Edited March 5, 2020 by owl sees all

Back to when the 'Big 5' negotiated the breakaway which became the Premier League, Everton were one of the 'Big 5' football clubs in England (Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham, Everton and Arsenal). BangrakBob
You have to take your chances, 11 shots on target, a couple off the bar. Oblak was brilliant, and our keeper made one mistake which turned the game with little time left. Fair play to Atletico. I hope they get to keep it going, not sure they will at this rate, which is harsh.
wilai
Ah well???? it's been a good ride for 2 and a half years.???? A Tale of Two Keepers!...... Oblak showed why he vies with Alisson for #1 in the world. Adrian showed why he is a reserve keeper. Terrible clearance; immediately followed by terrible positioning for the shot. Rarely do I blame individuals but there is no getting away from the fact that he cost us the tie. Alisson's injury cost us big time as many feared it would. Cannot knock the performance even if the finishing was a bit hurried at times. 34 shots with 11 on target tells the story of the game but Oblak and the two centre backs (bet City wish they still had Savic! who was superb in both legs) managed to repel the waves of attacks. Just the PL left now....as long a the virus allows us to complete the season. Not a bad consolation!????
