Nine Chinese nationals were arrested on Tuesday for holding and torturing two Chinese gamblers in Preah Sihanouk province.

Major Sok Kosal, a provincial military police officer, yesterday said the nine were loan sharks for a Chinese-owned casino in Sihanoukville. They were arrested after military police raided their rented home in Buon commune yesterday at about 1:30pm.

“They’re part of a Chinese gang who provided loans to gamblers at a casino in Sihanoukville,” Maj Kosal said. “The suspects held two of their countrymen – who owed money due to gambling – and tortured them in order to get the money back from the victims’ families.” “They were arrested yesterday after our forces raided their rented home in Buon commune ,” he said, noting that the victims had been held for five days prior to the raid.

Well done Cambodian Military Police. Keep up the good work and "sort out" the Chinese gambling mafia scum taking over Sihanoukville.

My first trip to Kom Pong Son (Sihanoukville) took 10 hrs over the worse roads you can imagine  1995  -  USAID rebuilt the roads and the bridges and my last trip in 2004 took 3 hrs.  What a nice place S-Ville was, pristine beaches, Aussie Brit and German Expats opening dive bars and restaurants,  Islands that have not had anyone on them since the Vietnam War, some of the best snorkling in SEAsia, but alas, The Chinese discovered it and turned it into a Sino Pattaya, and a safe haven for pedophiles, and Gambling casinos galore.  Imported Fillipina dealers (card sharks) Singaporean mamasans selling girls, boys and anything in between, turned that nice place into a shithole...........but you know it couldn;t have been done without help from the Khmer Police and Military, Money corrupts.
