KTB is burdened with specific tasks like payment for all public servants/officers and as far as I understood also payment channel for the enormous 600 Baht monthly "pension" for the elderly. The daughter asked me to take and update her KTB bank book. She does some work at the village health center (up to about 3 days a month) for which she gets 600 Baht a month on the KTB account (which has been mandatory setup for this particular purpose only!) This picture from last Monday shows the queue at KTB for the self service machines deep back in the building: (I politely returned the book without update) The other branch at Tesco: no self service book update machine, no receptionist/helper at the door, about 30 people sitting with a queue ticket.
