King leads the field as thousands take part in ‘Bike for Love and Warmth’

HUNDREDS of thousands of people across the country took part in the “love and warmth” cycle rides yesterday, with the main ride in Bangkok being personally led by His Majesty the King to mark the opening of the “Un Ai Rak Fair” at the Dusit Palace Royal Plaza.

Second batch of New Year gifts for low-income people

Low-income earners with state welfare cards line up yesterday at ATMs outside a bank in Chai Nat province, ready to withdraw the Bt500 to which they are each entitled.

 

THE GOVERNMENT yesterday transferred a second batch of funds into the bank accounts of another 4.2 million state-welfare cardholders who are entitled to Bt500 each as part of the Bt5.5-billion New Year gift programme for Thailand’s 11.1 million low-income earners.

Gen Prawit’s expensive wristwatch probe to be wrapped up this month

Investigation into the scandal surrounding luxurious wristwatches worn by Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan is expected to be wrapped up and its findings will be sent to the National Anti-Corruption Commission around the end of this month.
