Police are investigating after two men who went for a naked late night swim in Pattaya claimed to have had their clothes stolen.

The men, who were visiting the city from Chiang Mai told officers how they decided to go skinny dipping on the beach at Naklua at around 2am on Monday morning.

When they returned from swimming they realised their clothes, shoes, wallets containing 2,000 baht, a Samsung Galaxy S9 and a Huawei smartphone, which had all been left on the beach had been stolen. All that remained of their belongings were two towels.

The men estimated the stolen items totaled more than 60,000 baht.

Initially the men thought someone was playing a practical joke on them but after seeing no one else on the beach walked to the nearest police box to report the theft.

Police said they were checking CCTV footage of the local area.

In the past when I was walking in Naklua along the ocean, some nice walkways there, and some villas. But there also were some wooded areas where some people were skulking about, trying to entice people in for some "servicing", or whatever.  The point is there are people lurking about that you don't see and they are just waiting to pounce or take anything that is un attended

I remember foreigners doing this and they were arrested, paraded before the media, publically humiliated with 20 smiling BIB standing behind them and then charged for public indecency and shaming Thailand.

Think I would be embarrassed to admit I went for a naked swim with another guy.

Of course, we don't know if dress and bra and panties were among the items missing.  All the face makeup would come off in the swim of preoperative lady-boy

If it had of been about 2 women, this thread would be up to 30 pages by now, with 99% of the posts asking for unpixelated pics of the women.

I know, what has Thaivisa come to? Thaivia should perform an immediate review of their editorial standards with regards to quality of content expected by our most esteem readers. Why can't we return to the news worthy articles such as ex-porn star Nat and her multi-millionaire hubby Harold.

This reminds me of the story about my Malaysian friend that was visiting for a company meeting in Bangkok. He came early for the meeting, went out drinking and also went for a swim on Pattaya beach.

When he came out of the water his clothes had gone.

Somehow he got back to his hotel in the early hours of the morning, (maybe wearing underwear, I am not sure of the details) but the issue was that later that morning he had to do a big company presentation and did not have another pair of trousers to wear.

So that night (or early morning) he knocked on his colleagues hotel door to see if they could loan him a pair of trousers. And sure enough they did, but the funny part was that the Westerner trousers were a very large size and he was only a small size. He drove straight from Pattaya to Bangkok, but all through his presentation all ladies could ask was, "why are your trousers so big", and of course he was too embarrassed to explain what had happened, so he just sidestepped the question as only a Malay can.

Thais skinny-dipping???  And I thought this was only done by 'disrespectful' farangs!  If this were farangs, the robbery would be secondary to the 'disrespectful behavior' and the cheeky skinny-dippers would be arrested and facing fines and jail time for 'disrespecting' conservative Thai culture and morality.  But Thais skinny-dipping in their own country?  Well, that's different.

God help the next farang found not wearing a shirt though!
