End of the road for rogue Thai monkey - transferred to inactive post!

It comes to many officials in Thailand that they are transferred to inactive posts after misbehavior of one kind or another.

But it is not usually the fate of animals.

However, a rogue monkey has overstepped the mark in Khao Yai and will now be shuffling paper - well, peanuts - at HQ.

Several tourists have been attacked in the scenic area of the park known as Haew Narok.

A waterfall in the park featured in The Beach starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

But park authorities have had enough after the monkey has been playing a starring role for all the wrong reasons.

The final straw came when two tourists had their hair pulled and a guide on a Korean Group tour needed many stitches in hospital after the monkey grabbed a hand and refused to let go.

Authorities are suggesting that monkeys in the area are upset after signage went up telling tourists not to feed them.

The rogue monkey has now been "arrested" and sent to an animal holding facility in Nakorn Nayok.

Bi-lingual monkeys? They'll be smarter than all those others sent to inactive posts!

If the signs are as effective as the ones at Tha Pae gate telling the Chinese not to feed the pigeons, the monkeys would have nothing to worry about

Get rid of them and the pigeons and the soi dogs and rats , people just Don't listen and don't stop feeding the vermin.

Seriously?  These monkeys are native animals here, not like the pigeons, rats and street dogs.

Better to get rid of the tourists and dumb people who are feeding them.
