The Economic Crime Suppression Division armed with a warrant raided K8 Shop in the Sri Nakharin area yesterday.

INN said it was the biggest retailer of illegal TV boxes in a shopping center and was brazenly advertising its products using illegal broadcasts.

A quantity of U-Play boxes were seized. These are illegal boxes used to access sports, foreign movies and obscene material.

Customers were charged 1,980 baht and a 250 baht membership fee to access illegal material.

Hundred of names were found in a user name and password ledger.

Other equipment was also seized.

The raid is part of Department of Special Investigation (DSI) moves to shut down a four billion baht business offering illegal TV broadcasts.

Up to 20 others have been named in warrants.

Ridiculous. Do these people live under a rock? Android TV boxes are freely available to buy from IT malls (I saw them in Panthip and Fortune Tower last week) and from all the online shopping sites, Lazada et. al. Maybe the brown envelope from this shop wasn't fat enough?
