Here is a lesson for all the keyboard have a go heroes. You could end up like Weerapong. This guy Damrongchai sounds like a loose cannon. I wonder why Boonyaporn was attracted to him in the first place.

Immature girls ,all the world over,  are usually attracted to those ‘flashy’ guys with nary a thought whether the guy is a good provider or not. They just love the thrill of being wooed , wined and dined. Common sense be gone. That is why there are so many single mums or broken homes after the honeymoon period.

True. But here, Thai males have a particular refusal to accept rejection.

I know one case where a Thai was unfaithful to his gf and forgiven, was unfaithful again and his gf finished the relationship. They'd been in a relationship for 5 years. The guy refused to accept it and kept telephoning her several times a day for over 12 months only relenting when she married someone else. Even then prior to the wedding he pestered her parents and threatened to turn up and cause trouble before finally running back to mummy. Some just turn violent. They can't take the perceived loss of face.

I think in a  male dominant society, thai parents do not teach their sons how to handle rejection well when they were young. With the

concept of face thrown in, the male ego cannot handle rejection well. Moreover the false belief in karma and reincarnation could mean that they can ‘opt out ‘ of the current life time by suicide and have another go at it in their next life.

And your reasoning comes from where? Evidence? The fact is that not only Thailand has occurrences of jealousy and crimes of passion. These impulsive reactions re: relationship "issues" occur in countries outside of Thailand. Trouble is that innocent victims of that impulsive behavior are shot- as opposed to acceptance and moving on. Human behavior and thinking- particularly with males who are jilted.

So sad that once a relationship ends for whatever reason, the gun comes out. And speaking of that, why is Thailand not more restrictive of gun ownership? Gun violence occurs not only in Thailand, but the US where access to guns is lenient. But people with guns do not always shoot their partner. A control of guns would help, but as far as male Thais impulsivity good luck with that.

Why women fall for bad boys.

It's all been said before... In so many similar cases here....  That occur again and again, with jealous Thai males as the perpetrators...

You know what I mean!

Yep i know. It means that all the women who ever been shot all over the world it can only be a Thai man.

Or was this (only in Thailand) not what you ment?

What I meant was, these kinds of cases seem to happen here with far more regularity -- sometimes almost every day or every week -- than they do in areas of similar size population where I come from.  And here -- with acid attacks, forced drinking of drain cleaner, immolation, and various other gruesome methods -- the Thailand version of this kind of violence often has an especially barbaric style to it.

There's probably fewer sex workers where you come from.

Sudden death is a side effect of 20yo women having 'relationships' with much older criminals.

Domestic violence against and related killings of women in Thailand is hardly limited to the domain of sex workers or the broader bar/entertainment realms. It regularly affects everyday, normal women of all ages here.

Let's not add 'domestic violence' to the discussion, and just talk about the violent killings in the OP.

Then the answer is hardly ever.

That's hardly even close to true...

Just in the past month -- 38 year old married woman, 12 year old daughter, jealous 50 year old husband, fatal acid attack.  Just one example among many.
