After watching the 'interceptor' series on youtube about British motorway police, I have come to the conclusion that the UK youth of today seem to be an illiterate booze filled weed smoking lot of snowflakes, he should have had a 6 month sentence in a Thai prison on top of the 100k fine, perhaps with some reading lessons.

If you make that a two year sentence I will agree with you.

After a local contractor was paid 3000 baht to clean the wall, who in turn paid 2 Burmese labourers 300 baht each who keeps the remainder of the fine?

Who cares....????

Given he is a scouser who couldn't even spell scouse correctly, you would have to suggest he is not a particularly fast learner. In fact pretty stupid might be a reasonably accurate way of describing him, as his actions most certainly were.

Probably top of his class.

A <deleted> of the first order no doubt about that but with his lack of grey cells he probably does not know, even now what he did was wrong. To think he might breed doesn't bear thinking about

I love reading the puffed-up, righteous opinions of expat idlers who never lived a misspent youth, and who have nothing better to do than call for drastic exemplary sentences for minor transgressors of sometimes ridiculous laws with absurd penalties.

So its ok for him to turn up at your place and spray some crap on your walls?

It was NOT a historic fortress. It was reported earlier that the wall he wrote on was built in the 1980's. Not really an ancient artifact is it ? But we all know what Thais are like when it comes to telling the truth !!

The wall was repaired and re built and some of the original wall is still there and the whole wall is considered to be ancient

it is a forty year old ( approximately ) wall, and not an ancient ruin.

The fine should have been 1000 Baht. The court has very clearly bullied this idiot by imposing such a large fine over what amounts to a triviality of a crime. It was cleaned off the 40 year old wall very easily and quickly.

How much would a Thai have been fined?

Hope he learned a lesson from that mindless act.

Yah.  He learned that Mum & Dad's money will get him out of whatever he decides to do next and he doesn't have to take responsibility for anything.
