Thank you.

I didn't expect a nice post like that on ThaiVisa.

I wish you were there in 2014 when I was 21, in Thailand with, I guess, the same kind of difficulty than him. Dead broke.

I finished with having nothing more than 5 bahs coins. I didn't have even a 10 bahts... while In Pattaya. With all kind of mental disorders that even for 25 years, France specialists still can't put a word on what (TF) is going on up there...

lucky me I passed the difficulties on my own, as I have always done. This time with just a little bit of help from my Mother in France and a few months I was back on tracks!!! (but I left Pattaya for Chonburi city) ????

Someone shared the Samaritans of Thailand website.

But sometimes and or some people prefer writing.

Here is their email. I am not sure at what point they stop being able to help you.

But they are respectful, helpful, and they know and use manipulation techniques to lower the probability that you will actually kill yourself.

[email protected]

Talk to them about anything you need. It's free.

Thank you again.

I will not read any others posts than yours because I'm afraid to read all kind of bullshit. Sadly.

PS! Turns out I was just diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome which is a special form of Autism.

But who cares

????

I hope someone in need will read your message.

I'm even thinking about starting a group in several cities in Thailand dedicated to helping people who are already halfway to Terminal 21.

Even worse, now they don't have to go to Bangkok with that brand new one in Pattaya...

Just kidding. A little bit. Sorry. I shouldn't ^^

Are you okay Dude?!?!

Could have been anything. I know that after one too many feckless locals doing things backwards or one too many "mai mee"s from shop assistants or one too many Thais trying to get into the BTS or lifts before people get off - I've wanted to end it all, many times

Thailand can do that to an otherwise sane person

RIP

Those who are struggling and looking for help you might give assistance.

But those who decided to end their life you and nobody can help because they decided that step without "consulting " anybody.

It is, however, better to Provide them some form of companionship. No need for it to be heavy and mental illness-related, but just be a friend. Think about this: the more time they spend with you, the less they time they have to contemplate suicide. Maybe through casual activities and quality chat, someone can introduce something to them that would spark something in them, the will to "hang in there just a little bit longer, try something new". The possibility is small, but it is not impossible. After all, these with depression usually feel lonely and worthless, and they don't see any light at the end of the tunnel only darkness. Maybe you can bring a tiny LED light that they can focus on.

Looking at his fb profile is eerie... Here I am, looking directly into the big eyes of this now dead man on my screen. When on Dec 27 he was still playing ukulele and singing and uploading that video on facebook... And on Jan 1st he seemed happy with a woman in his arm. What could possibly have happened there with the woman? Was she the trigger? Was she a grieving spouse? He's clearly had issues for a while, his profile picture from October 2018 was edited: among other doodles, a gun doodle was positioned with the muzzle facing his head. Where were all the people who cared about him then? Where was the lady-friend? That was a silent cry for help, he was announcing to his friends on facebook that he was idealizing suicide. I think no one responded or else maybe this wouldn't have happened. My heart goes out to another troubled soul that society just failed to care about, his family and friends, and the people who had to witness the incident.

"Lorazepam

...Among those who are depressed there may be an increased risk of suicide.[3][8] With long-term use, larger doses may be required for the same effect.[3] Physical dependence and psychological dependence may also occur.[3] If stopped suddenly after long-term use, benzodiazepine withdrawal syndrome may occur.[3]..."

Unfortunately you are totally wrong.

You can only help those who are asking for help.

And help can come only from qualified trained psychologists.

People with a helper syndrome could be just the trigger to jump!

I was on the elevator and I saw something fly next to me and after a few second I heard strong noise when he felt in the floor. People was shocking and cry. The sad thing when he jump, he not scream, he just jump. I can’t forget that from my head.

These images will stay with people who witnessed this shocking event for a very long time indeed and may never go away completely. The Thai building designers have made it too easy for jumpers & drunks to endanger others below. It used to be thought of as being unlucky to walk under a ladder now its open escalators too - in Thailand anyway.

How do we know he jumped? People don’t watch other people in public spaces like that unless they are very attractive...people are too busy moving and trying to get through people...

reactionary witnesses are just that...didn’t actually see him initially but in a reaction mode and therefore what they saw was motion not the beginning step...

I think, somehow he would have screamed if he had been pushed, don't you?

In some places they report on the first baby arrival of the new year. Here, we get the first big splash  suicide of the year.  My sympathies go out to the near victims of his plunge as he could have killed a few innocents as well.

I was so lucky....He felt in front of me just 5 meter. I was the most closest when it happen. He not care other people because. He could not see who walked there. If i just walked few second faster or he jump 3 sec. Later he would hit me for sure.

This is only thing whats stay in my mind. IT makes me angry to him instead of feel sorry.

It's terrible that he did it in a public place as he could have killed someone walking below. Extremely selfish of the poor guy.

Yes really selfish. I am upset and angry because I was the one who could be hit if walked 3 seconds faster or he jumped 3 seconds faster. You just walked and just 5 meter in front of me you hear and see this happen.  I am really lucky     Lucky he looked like a doll no blood so I try to forget this.  It makes me angry on him  that also not feels good.

Obviously a few issues going on upstairs for this poor bloke.

It’s an extremely sad and gruesome way to go. I understand that this was in BKK but if anyone is struggling here in Pattaya and need to reach out to someone for a chat, face-to-face, get something off your chest or whatever feel free to message me, I’ll always be open to lending a hand to someone struggling. Especially if it saves a life.

Nothing is ever that bad, There’s always a solution to a problem. Even if it’ll be a long, hard road it’s much better than the alternative.

A very noble and generous offer. As a sufferer of Bipolar II and its depressions/anxiety I can tell you that very often the depressions quickly overwhelm and overtake one's ability to reach out for help when it's most needed, and the symptoms may not even be obvious. To anyone observing. It's a very insidious affliction. I still get depressions even here in such a wonderful place,  which incapacitate me for hours, days, sometimes a week or two, but I've developed sufficient coping strategies such that I'm never in danger of suicide. I always know that ech episode will run its course and I will come out of it. 25 years of constant therapy gave me the necessary insight. I had a thai lady once nickname ME Mr. Somchai - I'm glad I'm not superstitious. My heart goes out to his family, the poor guy, I know what he was probably going through - the anguish and despair.

And NO money on him, nothing? broken heart, anxiety issues, maybe that could be the reason why he jumped...

usually they jump from an apartment block and its almost always between 2am - 5am thats when you usually hear something go bump in the night , and its usually alot higher than that , i could not do that as i would be dizzy with the height of it , cannot get my head round why they pick such a painful ending , they could just lie down on a bed an overdose alot less painful and nobody has to witness it i always say its so selfish to do it in front of women and children when he could have done it in his room , very selfish ! imagine taking your kids for a meal in there and them witness it , its very selfish to do that

When you are in the mental state of killing yourself you are desperate to end the pain of life and have no capacity to think rationally like whether you are selfish or not. RIP to this disturbed man and peace to all that witnessed this tragedy.

Did you hear any screams from him ? Any warnings or just the body hit the floor?

Wow man! You were lucky. I'm sorry you had to see that. That's very traumatizing. I'm glad you are safe.
