Jestar requirements at checkin

I saw some bad news about Jestar requiring hotel confirmations and cash on hand at checkin desk and refusing checkin if not showing that things.

Is it a normal practice now or only a spot? Anyone had that problem recently? How can solve it if using credit cards and hosted by friends at arrival?

maybe they ask that only to someone with bad looking, to avoid problems at immigration when reach destination and have to take back the passenger. I understand if they ask for show cash for return ticket but the hotel confirmation is a surplus and a problem if going to visit friends and stay at their house

I know that Singapore refuse entry when someone i suspected not to be a normal tourist but Jestar need to be clear on this policy when we buy the ticket instead of make this crazy things.

an update to my post.

The problem is not from Jetstar. We went to Singapore from Suvarnabhumi last few days and the checkin was easy, we had also fly return ticket obviously.

Immigration at arrival takes some girls to interviews and this will last one hour because of long waiting time.

At the end my GF was allowed to entry. If you don't want problems is better to choose GF not beautiful when you go to Singapore.

I see now that my post is in the wrong airport topic, sorry for that, I'm talking about a company that operates in Suvarnabhumi but the problem involve all flights to Singapore with thai girls

That's not quite true, 2 female work colleagues from my old company, both professional pleasant management consultants, not that old, travel regularly bkk to changi and return, I just checked, neither lady has been taken aside for an interview.

maybe you're right ... it was our nightmare ... surely nobody check thai girls at Changi for interview and send back to LOS ... take it in your dreams if you're going there

Singapore immigration will take aside for interview some girls traveling on newly issued passports... twenty minutes or longer depending on how many they select...Thai, Filipino, not unusual for this to happen to...

I think you are right, my GF had a new passport this time and was not stopped for interview other two times that we went there and she was traveling with old passport.

A couple of years ago I was seated next to an attractive 30 something Filipina on a Jetstar flight Bangkok to Singapore, going to meet her boyfriend for a holiday. She had been an OFW in the Middle East previously and had visited other countries. She was ahead of me in the immigration line and was escorted to the interview rooms beside Immigration. I saw her again afterwards and she said her documents were correct but she was travelling on her just renewed passport, that seemed to be a red flag. She said Immigration only asked her a couple of questions about her visit, were more interested in her passport. Maybe they checked with the office where her passport was issued but they let her enter eventually.

Whenever I'm in line at Terminal 1 Immigration now I nearly always see a couple of Thai or Filipino looking girls taken aside for interview. Might also have something to do with looking out for forged travel documents?
