buzzz51
Hi all ive lived in Thailand for 5 years on a non b visa with a work permit leaving every 3 months on a boarder bounce, around 8 months ago my thai gf gave birth to our child, my question is, now that I have a dependent is there any option to change my visa that allows me to stay permanently without the need to border bounce and not needing to travel yearly to an embassy outside of Thailand to renew my visa but still allowing me a work permit to work here? thanks in advance for your answers and suggestions
jackdd
There was no need to leave every 3 months in the past, you could have gotten a yearly extension
buzzz51
I’ve always had to leave on a non b visa as I don’t employ more than 3 Thai staff
ubonjoe
You could apply for a one year extension of stay based upon being the parent to a Thai. You would need to show 400k baht in a Thai bank or proof of 40k baht income from you job by shown by income tax payments. You can apply for a work permit and work with it. You would need your parenthood legitimized to apply for the extension. See the following topic for info about doing it.
