Banana7
The new beach certainly looks wonderful during the day, but last night January 6, 2019 between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. it was like a nightmare. Boats and jet-skis are parked on the beach and tons of garbage. Does anyone agree that this is a world class beach resort or a family friendly beach? scubascuba3
I don't see a problem with boats and jet skis but yes the rubbish is a problem. i don't get why a tractor doesn't go up and down every morning raking the beach of of all sorts. Water not so easy to clean

moonseeker
Never gonna come even close to a classy resort town. Only getting worse, unless you are blind and have lost your sense of smell, too. .

NanLaew
All beaches anywhere in the region look like sh!t IMMEDIATELY AFTER A CLOSE PASS BY A TROPICAL STORM. Rough waves also struck a district as far northeast as Sattahip in Chonburi, damaging some homes there. Road floods were reported in Phetchaburi and Samut Prakan provinces. Since when was Pattaya either a world class beach resort or a family friendly beach? It used to be a cheap and cheerful paradise for mongers till the occupants of city hall saw baht signs in their eyes and tried to make it into something it can never be, All they did was ruin it for the mongers and it will never be a decent resort unless they bulldoze the entire place and start over. All that's happened is it's become an overpriced mess. As well known, one can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear.
fruitman
Typical for a world class resort....add some friendly soidogs, horning taxi-drivers, overpriced streetvendors, hurds of chinese jumping out of buses and it's there's the goldmine for the locals. Or would you like to see/smell tractors pulling jetski's and sand filtering machines? Don't forget to feed them doggies mate or they might show up at your dinnertable in the restaurant, after the flowervendors that is.

The Beach, oh that place where we went years ago with a never again Hangover. Then it was nearly all Bald Guys were from the US Armed Forces, brilliant place to be back then, big money, no border bouncers or Fan Room Freaks now its bald pensioned off old Mongers with funny Brit accents, toasted cheese sandwich and Chang Vests. We Staggered from Tahitian Queen over to the beach..... It was never meant for Beach Holidays.

thurien
" Does anyone agree that this is a world class beach resort or a family friendly beach? " who ever seriously said this? I only remember these endless mantras uttered by governmental authorities, ThaiTourism Auth., travel agents, home developers and deck chair operators - no one else will ever think anything else but Pattaya being one of the more lowly <resorts> P.S. I personally love it because of the byrds...
marcusarelus
I like Pattaya but really who but nuts go to the beach at night? Your photo shows the beach at during the day and as the original post states, it looks beautiful during the day. Go tonight after 8:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. . Or go during daylight, wade out into the water about 10 meters, be careful not to step on the glass bottles.
