Rawai’s Mayor is considering further legal action after many road signs around Rawai have been damaged by gunfire.

Rawai Mayor Arron Solos headed to an area near Naiharn lake in Rawai, about 500 metres from Promthep Cape, after being informed that road signs had been damaged by gunshots.

“About 10 road signs have been damaged by bullets. Photos have been taken and sent to the Phuket Highway Office. Officials are going to report this to Chalong Police to continue their investigation and issue legal action.”

The officials should just call it "bullet art" and promote it to tourists. Print out maps for viewing purposes. Encourage the artists to sign their work of course so they can get credit for their artistic skill.

Maybe this is West influencing East (but I think Thai red necks have probably been shooting road signs for decades). Vintage advertising signs for drinks, automotive products and services, chocolate bars, cigarettes etc are highly collectable and valuable in North America. But it's a rare find (and extra value) if one is found without the proverbial bullet hole(s).
