Seven foreigners have been charged over illegally working as pre-wedding photographers and assistants in Phuket yesterday.

The Phuket Immigration Office Chief Col Kathatorn Kumthieg ordered officers to inspect Kathu Temple and Kata Noi Beach, popular locations for foreigner pre-wedding photo shoots.

The Phuket Immigration Office reports that all staff in the pre-wedding photo shooting team were foreigners who only held tourist visas. They have been conducting work contracted in China.

So based on this if an infirm foreigner visits Thailand with his private nurse, on tourist visas, that nurse would be breaking the law.

Why not call them Chinese rather than foreigners?

Because they could be Chinese and not foreign. Plus the crime is working while being foreign, not working while being Chinese.

No one can work on a tourist visa or retirement visa. And a work permit is required for most everything, including volunteer work.

Naw, a paper really won't take that into account. It is because they were foreigners working.

No, because Chinese is a racial type as well as a nationality.

I'm not sure about that, but in this case the people were Chinese, which is a nationality composed of at least 56 ethnic groups, and are therefore foreigners when in Thailand, a completely different nationality.

Hey, after the Phuket deaths last year, let's upset the Chinese more by ruining WEDDING photo shoots.

What a joke!

The problem here is that the couples are ALWAYS walking from far away as there is no parking close to the entrance that NON paying hotel guests have to use. They are seen by the tuk tuks, taxis and everyone else. These guys with the cameras got called on by these people.
