I work in public transit and unfortunately it is quite a common occurrence. Most transit systems prefer not to publicize the occurrence to not give "ideas" to people who are contemplating suicide.

On a weekly basis there are people jumping infront of or people laying down on the tracks of oncoming subways and teams/trolleys.

In Germany many train drivers have been traumatised by running over people who decided to suicide on the tracks but it's impossible to stop a train in time and zero ground clearance if your on the tracks....

Lying down in front of a bus has the possibility of getting run over and maybe survive with horrific injuries if driver swerves and misses you with the wheels etc

Terrible way to go if it was really intentional, could be out of it on drink or drugs  and not an actual suicide but the police are quick to say  farang deaths are suicides sometimes

The bus could not stop in time and the man was crushed under the left rear wheel.

The conductor said the man lay down about two metres ahead of the bus.

Great driving, avoided him with the front wheel.
