BANGKOK, 11th January 2019 (NNT) – Government House will be allowing children to sit in the Prime Minister’s chair and view his office on National Children’s Day tomorrow (January 12) with other events being organized nationwide.

The Ministry of Science and Technology has already kicked off its Road of Science activity for National Children’s Day, assembling over 100 scientific experiments and trials on Yothi Road. The theme of this year’s event is “Fun with Science, Mastering the Periodic Table” and continues until tomorrow.

At Government House, the theme will be “Thai Children with a Volunteering Spirit, Bettering the Environment”. Those visiting the compound will be provided with a range of activities, and opportunities to win prizes as well as to view the Prime Minister’s office and even sit in his chair.

The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) is allowing children under the age of 15 to travel free on the day with up to 118 routes to waive fares for children.

Outside Bangkok, Khao Kheow Zoo is allowing any child under 135 centimeters in height and any holder of a welfare card free entry. In Nakhon Ratchasima, an F16 jet exhibition will take place while in Phattalung province children will be allowed to get up close with military equipment including tanks and artillery.

The theme will be “Thai Children with a Volunteering Spirit,

So any kid other than Thai going to school and living here is probably not allowed.
Years and years ago I guess unnoticed getting on, but then noticed after, I remember being kicked off of the Thai aircraft carrier with the Thai group I was with because I was white. I got all the way into the middle section before some low ranker escorted me off. The majority of the group stuck by me and left.

Racism is hot and heavy and alive with in the government.

You too!

Years ago the same happened to me on the (only) aircraft carrier.

Two navy personnel at the bottom of the gangplank told me foreigners weren't allowed on board.

When I pointed there was a group of a dozen or so Chinese ahead of me had been allowed on, the navy guy said, "Oh, they're OK."

Yeah me too. But I actually made it to the middle of the tin bucket no airplane carrier carrier. Racist to the holy high heavens.

Oh OFFICE! I misread that one, especially as he seems to have a reputation for speaking out of somewhere else.

You don't really expect him to be there. He's an important man and is busy running the country all by himself. It is sure to be only his cardboard cut-out that will be in his office..
