webfact
Three killed in Lamphun as pickups collide By Siriya Jankanta The Nation Three people were killed on Saturday night when their pickup trucks collided head-on in Lamphun. Sawaeng Paramee, 52, died at the scene. His wife Chalita Paramee, also 52, and the driver of the other pickup, 50-year-old Nokim Yojina, died on the way to hospital. Police determined that Sawaeng was hauling longans on a two-lane section of Li-Lamphun Road, accompanied by his wife. Both he and Nokim, in the oncoming lane, were allegedly straddling the centre line of the road at the time of the accident. Police were to run tests to see if alcohol was a factor. Lungstib
More drivers having trouble with what seems a simple rule, drive on the left. What chance getting the more complicated bits of driving understood when even this is ignored.
Briggsy
The locals missed out there. They could have scored multiple bags of longans. Maybe they did.

Your only takeaway from this is to perpetuate the ‘blame the farang’ myth when no foreigners were involved?

hotchilli
As I've stated before there are no lanes in the Thai road handbook, it's one piece of tarmac/concrete with a free-for-all between the edges!
holy cow cm
Thai Nothern CM joke but is reality, that if you see a car driving like a moron or not having skills, then more and likely it is from Lamphun. I kid you not it is true. I look at license plates all the time and am truly miffed that the joke is not a joke, and the truly worst drivers tend to be woman on cell phones from Lamphun. 2nd is the male Lamphun driver on a cell phone or not. Just people who drive their own way and never get it!
