The decomposing body of a woman was found on Sunday inside a cupboard floating on a river in Chon Buri.

The woman appeared to be 25-30 years old. A post-mortem indicated she’d been dead for seven days. There were no signs she’d been physically assaulted.

The victim, wearing shorts but no top, was lying inside the cupboard along with a rock that weighed about 20 kilograms.

Samreung Thanuanthad, 63, a factory security guard, noticed the cupboard floating in the river behind Saen Suk Central Stadium and on approach smelled something rotten.

He said the cupboard, securely tied with rope, was filled with worms.

Police believe the body was that of a migrant worker who died of natural causes.

Pol Col Jaruwat Suriyathip, superintendent of Saen Suk police, speculated that her employer might have hidden the body for fear of being charged with employing workers illegally.

He suggested the cupboard might have been dumped in the Gulf, weighted with the rock, and it was carried by the tide into the river.

Police are examining missing-person reports.

The body was sent to forensic specialists in hope of determining her identity and the cause of death.

I suggest that to be a lazy determination.

Sometimes the police are quick to presume natural causes or suicide in circumstances that seem to contradict it. Young women of 25-30 do not often die of natural causes.

Better to wait for the autopsy.

You should look in Ayuttaya, the way the river floats changes with the tide. So yes it does float up river there at times. So this is not impossible at all.

It is easy to get away with murder in Thailand but this one I believe is suicide

I must admit, some Thai lady's are very talented.  This one would have had Houdini bedazzled, with being able to "securely tie the cupboard with rope", from the inside, whilst sitting on her 20kg rock.

Often young Thais men working overseas died in their sleep as reported. They believe "Succubus" came and did blowjob on the young men and they died in their sleep. Sperm and blood all sucked out by the Succubus. Honestly just asked the Thais.

Even the Chinese in old days believed that. Chinese even have a literature on this woman spirit said to come from a fox. Victims became very weak and thin and would eventually died of illness.

When communist took over China in 1957 they did away with all the old wives tales and educate the young people on science. So Succubus died a natural death in China. In Thailand she is very much alive and come in the form of a dead widow.

What on earth are you on about? ????

Strangely though, I just saw the video report for Pattaya where a ceremony was held by women to get rid of the evil spirit that was taking the lives of their menfolk!

jack i am old and my memory is taking leave without telling me so I made mistake this comment was supposed to be on the "evil spirit taking the lives of their menfolk".  See what happened was I read that and then I went on to read this lady died in a cupboard while my mind still on the other comment. And I started to reply . See what I meant?

I fear I would one day use the public toilet and wouldn't be able to get out because I forgot how to unlock the door. I would be banging on the door to ask someone to let me out. I can speak Thai so I would be shouting out loud to ask someone to open the door and thais people outside couldn't figure out what is going on. When you lose your memory everything is gone life becomes meaningless. You are not connected to anything anymore. I may have to leave earlier than I thought (you understand me?)

Well happy holidays... this is a complete turn around from the usual.

normally the BiB say suicide, and the forum questions that assumption... but today, just to be different, the police question the manner of death, and you say suicide.... strange days indeed.

No. She is a character in a well known UK nursery rhyme who lived in a cupboard. Brit farangs will appreciate (I hope)

Much appreciated your telling me this character in UK nursery rhyme. So kids get wild imaginations with character like this living in a cupboard.

I remember they did away with the ending phrase "The prince and princess lived happily ever after" because they said the kids get the wrong message that life would be like that in reality. Giving wrong idea to kids is considered bad. I guess it's true isn't it?

Thanks Burma Bill .
