A drought-afflicted farmer in Nakhon Ratchasima has discovered that Bt100,000 worth of rice went missing from her warehouse during December.

The 102 sacks of rice were found missing from the warehouse owned by Mallika Thamsej, 57, in Ban Nong Muang, Amphoe Huai Thalaeng.

The rice was there on December 1 and gone on Mallika’s next inspection on January 1, leaving her without any rice to sell to repay the debt she accrued while growing it.

She suspects the thief  broke into the warehouse in the middle of the night while she was toiling at a construction site in the city, while her elder sister was alone at home.

The drought last season was bad enough, Mallika said, but the loss of the rice was a double misfortune for her family.

She harvested 250 sacks of rice the year before, but the drought reduced her 2018 yield to just 102 sacks.

She urged police to conduct a speedy investigation and bring the thief to justice.

Yep. Looks like a state of the art and secure warehouse.

You of course being a rich farang would have spent  a large sum of USD and own an impregnable warehouse  complete with floodlights, 24/7 armed security, guard dogs while the poor. deeply indebted Thai farmer makes do with that.

You are all heart.
