Yet more dishonesty! And this thief is not even afraid of committing sin at a temple!

Yet more dishonesty! And this thief is not even afraid of committing sin at a temple!

This week and last could not be more different.

Following a swathe of stories about Thai honesty last week this week is looking quite grim.

TNA reported on Thai TV that a woman was caught on CCTV clearly stealing the purse of a woman making merit at the temple of Wat Chanthanaram.

Done in just a minute the woman was not worried about the retribution from her sinful activities, said the presenters as the damning footage repeated on loop.

Thaivisa notes that committing sin at a temple is especially serious in the eyes of most Thais.

The wallet contained 1,000 baht and Lt Nawin Bunkhumkhrong of the Sankhaburi police in Chai Nat would like to hear from you if you have any information about the thief.

Last week there were high profile stories about Thai honesty with big stories in the press praising Thais.

Already this week two Thai maids in Pattaya were arrested after the theft of 5,900 Euros from a German octogenarian who left the money in the wardrobe of a Pattaya condo.

Now with the latest theft online skeptics on various forums will be suggesting that it is only a matter of time before an "honest Thai cabby" story hits the headlines to redress the balance.

Stay tuned.

Maybe the wretch had only gone to the temple for her weekly pilfering lesson from the monks . . . thought she might as well get a bit of practice in whilst waiting her turn. Indiana Jones may be coming home to roost.

Why should she be, divine retribution is a myth.

I'm sure karma will catch up with her.

it should be the police doing the catching, but good to have a plan B, right?

Are you all blind or stupid? It is the taxi drivers wife. She told not to return the money and now she has had to go and get some money herself.
