One change which would be quite easy to implement: Make people use more motorbikes.

Their are lots of things they "can" do - as another example many Chinese cities don't allow any motorbikes with engines only electric, probably a step too far at this time. They could also set up check points on all roads into the city and not allow polluting trucks in, but then they would be depriving a lot of people an income!

So far they appear to have done the sum total of nothing :shock1:

They know what needs to be done but are too busy feeding at the trough to instigate any positive action that will make any difference ????

They are talking like it’s hard to figure out.  Enforce the laws that already exist, and promote public transportation, car pooling...Well documented solutions from all over the world!  Thais think they need to reinvent things ????  Just fix it!

I've come to the conclusion the reason they won't state the burning of the sugar cane fields as the culprit is because the Junta pushed for the farmers to move to sugar cane instead of rice. Some heavy duty face saving going on.

In the meanwhile, smog in the middle of the high season will murder tourism - from the West. For China dwellers it's still clear as a winter day in the arctic.

You mean... dark?

There's a couple of minutes the sun might shine in the arctic on a good day. You'll need sunglasses. The air is pristine and it's quite beautiful - for the first 10 seconds before your balls start to turn into ice.
