Playing USB Stick on Old Amp

I've got an Onkyo amp which I run a CD player from.

It's probably about 5 years old now and has no port (only a dock) for a USB stick.

Looking at options, it seems a new DVD/CD player like this one, just to play

music from my USB stick.

Seems to be a decent and cheap way to go, or is there another option I should be looking at?

Thanks in advance.

Not a bad price for a name-brand device but there's probably cheaper, easier, passive, hardware-only options. What sort of input sockets or jacks does your Onkyo amp have?

That device is interesting but how do you select which track you want to hear? Presumably it will only start with the first and play them all in sequence, and wont let you skip forward or backward. And if you turn it off and on again I suppose that it wont remember where you got to before and will just start again at the beginning. That may be suitable for some basic users but probably not for all.

And I cant see how the USB stick would be powered by this anyway.
