Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan talks to reporters Wednesday at the Defense Ministry.

BANGKOK — Thailand’s deputy junta leader said Wednesday it was “good enough” that no Thais were killed in an apparent terror attack on a Thai-owned hotel complex in Kenya that left at least 14 people dead.

Addressing reporters during a daily morning briefing, Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan’s flippant comment came as the Dusit Thani Co. this afternoon announced its Thai employees were all safe after Tuesday’s heavy assault on Nairobi’s DusitD2 hotel, which it will close temporarily.

Go easy on Squealer. It's just that 'food' is his primary reason for going anywhere and he just figured the terrorists might be a lot like him,

No need for him to "watch" his weight?

How well characterised.  I applaud you.  Squealer is arguably the worst of the lot.

No, he is number 1, Prayuths master. He's the brains  the mastermind.

Thank God for that. I always thought it was Chanocha. Knowing it was the monkey and not the organ grinder comes as something of a relief.

And explanation.

I read that too. He was not chosen as prime minister due to the fact he is not liked by the public. He apparently holds much of the power though.

Didn't he even exercise his brain enough to condemn this atrocity in the most withering of terms before admitting what he really thought? You know, something like 'Thailand stands shoulder to shoulder with the International Community against this deplorable incident and will stop at nothing to ensure the guilty are brought to justice.'

But no. Just open your mouth and see what comes out. What a knob, by anyone's book...

At least some countries are doing their bit rather than just more sound bites from this lot of abject cretins...

What a fitting and apt description of the present rulers ????

Truly sums them up in two words!

Well, it is just a bit more than ten years ago that Japanese news concluded every accident/catastrophe with "We are happy to announce that no Japanese was killed in this incident" ... took decades to explain that this sounds extremely racist/impolite to westerners (or non Japanese in general).

No idea why you are all upset.

Unlike in other countries, here a PM is not "chosen" for his media presence.
