Don't confuse "falling for it" with "resigned to it." The masses will fall into both camps. Many unsophisticated/uneducated here can still intuit the existence of the massive bullshit, lies, and indifference on the part of their government without being able to deconstruct or analyze it. Thailand needs someone in control otherwise there is fighting, protests blocking roads and airports, lawlessness as we have witnessed in the past.
