Two people were killed and three others seriously wounded in a collision involving a sedan and a pickup in Samut Prakan’s Phra Samut Chedi district on Sunday.

Following the 11am report of a fatal accident in Soi Pracha Uthit 90’s Luk Wua-Chongkho intersection, police and rescue workers rushed to the scene where they found the wrecked green Toyota Soluna in the middle of road with two injured people – Sakrin Khong-aun, 44, and Subin Khong-aun, 81, inside the sedan. The dead bodies of Pakhin Khong-aun, 6, and Sanit Khong-aun, 80, lay on the ground.

About 150 metres away, a Toyota Revo pickup truck, with its front section wrecked, was stuck in a roadside shrimp farm ditch while its seriously injured driver Khajornsak Khampimul, 23, crawled out to seek help.

Initial police probe revealed that the people in the sedan were on their way for a doctor’s appointment and were taking a right turn at the intersection when they collided with Khajornsak’s pickup.

I would hazard a guess that speed and possibly inattention had something to do with this accident.

I would hazard a guess the above has something to do with a high percentage of accidents.

Car turning right and hit on the right side.

Possible scenario = young driver in pick-up going too fast, encounters slow-moving or even stationary car ahead. Young driver does not even consider the possibility that the car is preparing to make a right turn. Young driver goes for the overtake as car begins making the right turn. Young driver hits the car side on.

Inexperience, dangerous driving, speed, possibility of failure to use indicators (both vehicles). possibility of failure to use mirrors (again both vehicles).

not far from where i used to live. Out of interest where can one see daily fatality numbers? Curious to see if there was a drop from the 7 days of dumbness. According to cnn it's only a couple more deaths than everyother day. And as we all know reporting of such might be a little diferent than reality on a normal day. Just wandering why the stupid road side stops with free stuff for the seven days of dumbness dont permanently exist. Its great to see people in official uniforms have to sweat it out in the pollution instead of aircon buildings headbutting eachother or whatever they do in there.
