56% of UK exports already go to countries outside of the EU - 95% of British companies do not export to the EU at all. So all these predictions of doom and gloom seem rather hollow. There are so many 'experts' making predictions on Brexit so how do they become 'experts' on a subject that has never happened before?

So "only" 44% of export goes to the EU? Well, I guess everything will be all right then:coffee1:

You say that "95% of British companies do not export to the EU at all". I guess that means 95% of British companies don't export at all. Just a little detail you probably forgot to mention.

I will assume that your assertion of 56% of exports to non EU countries is correct - but do you assume that these exports will continue uninterrupted post Brexit? What trading terms will they be executed under, now that the EU trade agreements we currently enjoy will no longer apply.

Trading on WTO rules might not be so bad for the UK.After a no deal Brexit, the £ might lose 5-10 % against the major currencies. This should go a long way to cancelling out any tariffs.

On the other hand, imports would be more expensive.Would that be so bad ? Might encourage people to buy British.

Foreign aid has got completely out of control - they`ve got so much cash they don`t know what to do with it.

We have OAP s freezing to death cos they can`t afford the heating costs, and people lying on trollys in hospital corridors for 14 hrs ....but can still afford to squander £ 13 billion on foreign aid.

None of which is the fault of the EU and everything to do with the seemingly endless series of corrupt and incompetent governments to whom we love to hand power.

That’s very true and we do need to dramatically change our governments of both sides. Then we repeal Cameron’s law.
The squandering of B13.9 in 2017, and increasing, does have some parallels with the annual EU B8.9 net cost. Corrupt organisations controlling the cash; propping up peasant economies; useless and expensive vanity projects etc.

Not so much 'vanity' IMO - more bribes, to facilitate the selling of arms etc....

The govts. giving money for foreign aid know that very little actually helps the poor.

IMO of course.
