geovalin Posted January 24, 2019 Share Posted January 24, 2019 Police from the Internal Security Department at the Interior Ministry and provincial immigration police on Monday arrested 58 Chinese nationals allegedly involved in VoIP scams in Svay Rieng province. Major Seng Sophal, a provincial internal security department police officer, yesterday said the 58 are suspected to be members of a Chinese mafia operating in the Kingdom who extorted money from people in China using VoIP. Maj Sophal said that they were arrested at about 7pm on Monday after police raided the Titan King Casino, Lema Cau Casino, and Crown Casio in Bavet city. . . “They were part of a Chinese gang operating in Cambodia which extorted money from people in China via the use of VoIPs,” he said. “They were arrested on Monday after police raided the three casinos, owned by Chinese nationals, where they were hiding.” “They were arrested in cooperation with Chinese police,” Maj Sophal added.
