petedk
It will be interesting to see just why "water was getting into the boat". Overloaded or poor maintenance?

Lupatria
So the merit making ceremonies and burning tons of incense at the TAT worked,- no Chinese involved. I was told they also want to re-design all taxis so their favorite tourists from the new motherland won't get hurt in road accidents:

smedly
On the roads on the water Thai standards and safety are extremely high - so high they are pie in the sky Enforcement of standards costs money and nobody wants to pay it - pocket number one

TallGuyJohninBKK
Sure glad the Phuket Marine office has been thoroughly inspecting and checking the safety of all the boats operating out of their jurisdiction. The evidence of their hard work is clearly evidence in the OP article here.

NCC1701A
i did this run from Krabi in Oct for my number one girlfriend's birthday. one of the two boat's engines failed on the way back. the boat was now "off center" as only one engine was pushing the boat forward and sideways at the same time. it was really unstable. the driver would speed up and we would start to turn sideways and then he would slow down. repeat over and over. i told my girlfriend to put her jacket on and to hold on to her mask and snorkel. took an extra hour to get back. at least another boat came and followed us back. Yeah but be fair, the inspector has to play golf in the afternoons and help his wife sell cheap shit at the market in the mornings. Plus, he's entitled, he got the job through his uncle - therefore doesn't have to actually work, and never mind that he knows nothing about the subject involved.
