jonwilly
A few weeks ago there was crash on the Irrigation Canal Road resulting in fatalities. The crash was opposite the road joining from Wat Umong . Now The bridge over the canal has been removed. 2 large Hydraulic 'Diggers' have first chopped up the bridge and are now removing the old masonary. Can't understand why ? john
lopburi3
Wife says it was reported at time of crash that bridge had been set for destruction for several months.
pgrahmm
From what I've read, it was one of many marked to be rebuilt with better safety standards.... Perhaps the accident moved up the timing/focus to this bridge....
sfokevin
Given the old bridge did little to stop the people from getting killed (which it should have) it’s only seems reasonable to replace it... Hopefully with one that is designed to save lives...
Maybole
Bad Karma, the ghosts of the recently deceaced may take revenge by causing more accidents.
eyecatcher
I hope on reflection they see no need for a replacement. The next one along is in an even worse state but a lot narrower. All the u turn from Home pro down to the don chan Lamphun highway have now been shut off... Thats 3 which as a safety measure is great but a bloody nuisance when you have to travel 2,3,4km to the next major to come back.
