sbk
from the Bangkok Post: This year's Thailand Ladies Open to be held March 7-9, with the Pro-Am set for March 6, will have another ambitious target to aim for. The news that future population figures, especially in countries like China, could see males outnumber the females by millions has made some sports officials think ladies sports should be strengthened and popularised from now on so that a firm base can be created. Article goes on to say that the Ladies Open will held at the Green Valley Country Club, which was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr 20 years ago. Prize money is US $100,000 for the Ladies Open plus US $ 10,000 for the Pro-Am, sponsored by the TAT.
CymruAmByth
Anything to broaden the appeal of Ladies Golf is welcomed. Having seen a few Ladies tournaments, they are a joy to watch. Great short games, colourful characters and (almost) all of them play with a huge smile on their faces. Such a breath of fresh air compared to the pampered USPGA tour boys. Good luck to one and all.
