A 51-year-old French man, who reportedly worked as a French teacher in Singapore, has been arrested in Bangkok for buying sex with teenage boys, Metropolitan Police commander Maj-Gen Senit Samrarnsamruajkit told a press conference on Wednesday.

The suspect, Quenot Jean-Christophe Marie Georges, was arrested on February 4 at a hotel room in Soi Inthamara 47. A computer notebook, a memory card, two hard disks, a camcorder, camera, cell phone, eight packs of Kamagra oral jelly (a cheaper version of erectile dysfunction-treating Viagra) and 36 condoms were seized, Senit said.

He allegedly picked up boys aged 13-15 at the Huay Kwang Stadium to have sex with him. A father complained that his teenage son had gone missing and police say they traced him to the foreigner’s hotel.

The suspect was allegedly caught with two boys aged 14, who were not the missing boy.

Officers said they found a tripod in the room and a computer with pornographic movies for the boys to watch with him.

Police said they found a video of the suspect having sex with a teenage boy. Two boys reportedly told police they were invited on Facebook by the suspect to have sex with him for Bt800-Bt1,000.

Deputy divisional commander Col Nakarin Sukhonthawit said the police had been noticed that teenagers at the stadium had an unusual amount of cash because they were "going out with a foreigner".

Nakarin said the suspect had admitted to recording sex videos with a boy but insisted it was for his own viewing. Police are checking for the videos online, which would lead to additional charges.

The suspect reportedly told police that he taught French in Singapore and had over a year ago befriended boys at the stadium by volunteering to teach them English and football.

As he grew closer to the boys, he invited them to have sex with him for cash and would record it, the police said.

Police found the suspect had entered Thailand 10 times before, with the previous trip mid-2018, each time staying in the Huai Kwang hotel for around five days.

Police initially charged the man for "taking away" minors under 15 from their parents or guardian and raping children.

The way the Thai judicial system works he will probably be sent to a juvenile detention center? My buddies 12 year old daughter was abducted and raped by a Bangkok taxi driver and the boll0x was not just out of prison but back driving his taxi within three months. I would suspect the French judicial system would deal with him more harshly and appropriately?

In the UK, vigilante groups entrap and apprehend paedophiles operating on social media. The Thai Police need to do the same. South East Asia is a magnet for European sex offenders.

And what do you think of the locals?

With an arsenal like this, tough for him to deny any sexual intentions.

Dependent on your reasons and intentions for having the items, it could. Prostitution is, surprisingly, illegal for providers, and in some cases customers, in Thailand, especially if not under official patronage.

While the majority of sex crime in Thailand against children is from within the family.

Across the world the majority of abused children know their attacker, the whole idea of "stranger danger" hides where the more likely threat to children lies.

Why is this pedo so stupid?  Looking for boys on Facebook and rape them in a hotel room , does he think Thailand will tolerate anything ?

And a teacher , what a shame , how many innocent lives did he destroy in the past?  Lock him up and never let him near kids again.

Nah, only if you show up with this party kit and plan to roger underaged boys.

Then yes, I'd consider you a criminal.

Regardless, thanks for keeping the house cleaning staff busy and employed.  A true Samaritan.

Why would you have all that on holiday?  Unless you're an incredibly successful lover, any prostitutes would be illegal and unless you were certain they were all over 18 you would furthermore be a child rapist.

Lock them up and let them rot in HELL.

a real rot, a bastard, this filthy beast.
But you, gentlemen, who preach morality, do you not come as a sex tourist,
Thailand, paying the girls?
Admittedly, it is to be hoped that they are not children.
But these girls (or boys) are willing / forced, since you wave them 1000b under the nose.
Eh! yes, you choose them on catalog, in the manner of LAZADA and, if they suit you, you keep them 2 days, otherwise, you throw them like crap.
So the laws on prostitution, that makes me laugh.

90% of sex abuse of children was from family members and friends. Don't think the stats now would be much different. I imagine that abuse of kids in the west is now far less prevalent given how well educated children are now on recognising and dealing with sexual predators.

You could try, even in a one-liner, to get your facts right.

Oh Dear Oh Dear. FACTS.

"Expat is short for the word “expatriate“. An expatriate is simply a person who lives in a different country than the one in which they were born. ."

So a Frenchman living in Singapore is an ???????

All together now .....
