Myanmar woman killed in Nonthaburi car crash

By The Nation

A Myanmar woman was killed early on Saturday when the car she was a passengr in hit a concrete barrier on a road in Nonthaburi's Bang Yai district.

Bang Yai police said the accident happened at 4.30am on the Bangkok-bound Kanchanapisek road in front of the Boonthong plants market in Tambon Saothong Hin.

The Myanmar woman was identified as Miow, 40.

She was a passenger in the car driven by Rung-aroon Waiyasilp, 36, who was slightly injured.

Rung-aroon said she was heading from Ayutthaya to Samut Sakhon. She said she hit the barrier while making a U-turn.

At what speed did she try to make this u-turn, 110? Hitting a barrier while doing a u-turn can't get anyone killed. There must be more to this story...

Sounds strange, i agree. If the story is true, it could be that she didn't wear any seat belt and the sudden impact hitting the barrier made her head smash into a window causing an intracranial hemorrhage. Falling of a skateboard and hitting one's head on the ground, not wearing a helmet, could cause equal damage.

We're talking about a U-turn, there's no speed involved, unless the driver tried to to it with engaging the handbrake.

At least, the story should be "she hit the barrier when she was trying to make a u-turn". Whatever she did, it went very wrong.
