Hey, Trump, This is January 2017.

Rather than babbling about an election almost 4 years away, do your job as a president and focus on the issues at hand.

I have no idea why you posted something about 2017 when the post you quoted was 2019. Is it supposed to be some cunning reference to something so obscure that I have no idea of it?

Unless of course Pence goes too.

Welcome President Pelosi.

Are you dreaming, or do you seriously think that's going to happen.? All the <deleted> about Trump, and not even a whisper that Pence has done something illegal. He's probably one of the least "naughty" members of congress.

So a poster tells a senator: 'the election is 2 years away, focus on the job at hand, and wait with the election' and you're seriously telling me you don't understand the reference to the president, since he officially announced his candidacy almost 4 years before the election?

News to me. He only just announced his campaign was starting, which is normal in US elections to be a year or so ahead.

Not easy to have any form of communication with people about something they know nothing about: Trump officially announced his candidacy on the day of his inauguration.

No I’m not dreaming.

I’m just better informed than you are.

I really, really hope that Warren wins the Dems selection, and I bet the GOP do as well. When Trump finishes his bedtime prayers he probably says something like " and please let Warren win the Dems selection".

The entertainment factor of the debates will be YUGE.

I don’t think Warren gives Trump much thought in her bed time prayers nor in her planning for 2020:

She's a scold, just rehashing the old pablum that Sanders tried to peddle.  Another ivory tower millionaire out to civilize the mass of the unwashed and uneducated. She won't make it past the first round of cuts. It's probably gonna come down to Senators Harris and Booker, with Biden as an outsider if his health holds up.

Biden would be as entertaining as Warren. I'm assuming Bernie is just too old this time, or did he get so PO at the Dem committee that he can't be bothered having another go. IMO he would be president now if the committee hadn't backstabbed him. Probably they cry when they think how they backed the wrong horse in the race.

Did HRC ever get mentioned as a possible contender? Having her would be gold.

Thanks for the quote. I'm surprised. However, we'll have to wait and see if there is anything there.

Chance of Warren being the Dem nominee.....0.1%

You don’t seem to understand how the Democrat presidential race works.

Warren will undoubtedly withdraw from the race by backing (and encouraging her supporters to back) the candidate that is beating her.

Warren will do a deal for that hand-off in which the surging candidate adopts key items from Warren’s platform.

The question is then, is Warren’s platform popular with the American public.

We know Illiberals here on TVF don’t like it, but they’re not a representative sample of the US public.

My bet, gross economic inequality and  left wing social reform will be center stage of the 2020 election.

Warren is doing her bit to put it there.

The trouble with socialism is eventually you run out of other peoples money- M Thatcher. Bleeding the rich has been tried, it has never worked.

The funny thing is that America is already practicing socialism.  But only for rich folks....

[Trump is promoting socialism for the rich and harsh capitalism for everyone else in other ways. GM has got more than $600m in federal contracts, plus $500m in tax breaks. Some of this has gone into the pockets of GM executives. Chairman and CEO Mary Barra raked in almost $22m in total compensation in 2017 alone.

But GM employees are subject to harsh capitalism. GM is planning to lay off more than 14,000 workers and close three assembly plants and two component factories in North America by the end of 2019.]

...which is something less than one half of one percent of GM total revenue. Agree that they shouldn't  get tax breaks.

That's inevitable and would have happened anyway. When AI finally arrives, that is just the taste of what is to come for manual workers.

Sad, but computers and robotics are making humans irrelevant when making stuff.

All going to backfire immensely when a/ not many are earning enough to buy the stuff the robots make, and b/ when all the young, unemployable men riot and burn the whole thing down ( that's IMO ).
