Do you mean AMM?

It's AMM, it's all over his facebook page.

Trouble with AMM, he's a bit of a one trick pony.

Some of his stuff is pretty good and insightful, then he goes down the rabbit hole, and it devalues his good stuff since he just appears obsessed and frankly, nuts!

Having said that, we all need to thank him for publishing the hilarious pictures of 'you know who' in his girly crop top. That was precious

Isn't that what they said the last time?  And then - whoops - there was a coup!

That's what I was going to say. Imagine a lot of people are jittery remembering that lies and deceit are everyday things in this culture and the tyrant did say this in 2014 before the takeover.

A show of force to comfort any citizens who might be tempted to vote the wrong way - or a hint of what might happen if a civilian government were to be elected.

I left the country that year and, like a lot of people who can, I and getting ready to leave again.

no need to train, the coups come rather naturally

Based on previous experience, coups vastly out number actual military conflicts, so it's fair to say their expertise is not related to military in any way, so just let's stick with coups, less chance of any major stuff-ups

...and some of you keep insisting how it would be better to have the cancer back....???

...as you can see with recent shenanigans.....there is no safe distance from the cancer....

...the cancer has caused Thailand Billions (of dollars, even) of 'losses'... it has been reported....

...and yet it is still not enough for the cancer to go away and leave Thailand alone.....

...gotta wonder how you can rationalize this......

I don't think anyone is wishing for the "cancer" to be back, they simply look at the last 7 decades of Thailand's political history and realise that the cancer is a product of the system the military has created. The cancer happened to be an apt pupil.

thats right  coups are cancer,

have coup, restrict foreign capital= stock market loses 5 billion dollars,

next coup makers think hey change the foreign business act= stockmarket loses 3 billion dollars.

Hey have another coup= foreign capital leaves over 5 years 8 billion dollars

It's been quiet......  too quiet......

Then in 48 hrs, a top princess is thrown into the dead center of Thai politics, a shock to Thai like no other, fake military orders for mass military expulsions, generals reported in Germany, coup rumours, fake news of tanks entering Bangkok, complete disarray.  48 hrs.

He's back.

Just hope he's out grown guns, RPGs, C4, and mass urban pyrotechnics.

Maybe he's gone digital, AI.

Unfortunately some speculators fail to realise that militaries around the world don't just sit on their backsides all the time. They do actually have to get out of camp to move to training areas. Never a dull moment for the tinfoil hat brigade though is there?

Also- they are not 'TANKS' they are BTR-3 Ukrainian designed Armoured Personnel Carriers. it makes sense for them to be on the road in that area as there are a number of military training areas around Lop Buri.

Correct - APCs not tanks.

Exactly right, you don't move armour unless you have a good reason..... The last time i saw this was four years ago in Kanchanaburi moving armour on trains to guess where..... The boys are getting worried.....

Am I missing something here?  How do you mount a coup against a junta who took power by a coup?

So are we now gonna get a coup of a coup followed by a coup of a coup that overthrew another coup?

Thanom launched a coup against his own government. Two years later he was out on his arse. So there is precedent.

Doubt it all wrong conclusion/info, somebody been adjusting military powers over last 2 yrs plus always been military factions and can't see them all singing from same hymn sheet .

Uncle Buck and the plump watch junkie really are a mess and not great politicians or polling material .

Only way I can see votes favouring them is by rigging the count and for sure they be paying voters on the day like usual party practise .

No one really suitable as they all bad eggs but uncle buck getting in for 4yrs likely be worst outcome and see more repression and probably serious protest or further military division in time ...

You seem to know far too much about this coup training and the vehicles involved. Please, tell us more.

You could look here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Thai_Army#Vehicles and see the vehicles involved and you don't need to train the troops for a coup as most of the time they will follow orders.

There may come a time when they may not follow orders, which is a problem with a mostly conscript army especially if it comes to shooting unarmed civilians who may even be from their extended family.

Not trying to be a smartass here, but will they refuse? When their own families could quite well be under the baleful eye of their superiors?

At some point I think they will.

The conscripts that are coming along now are a lot smarter than the ones of 20 and 30 years ago. More computer and mobile phone savvy and as conscripts they are probably not happy wearing green suits.

They have been following what has happened during the last 5 years and it wouldn't take too much for them to say no to shooting some civilians.

The regulars would have to stamp it out very quickly but the social media is a lot faster.

The generals are still in charge but I don't think that are necessarily that smart judging by the current crop, plus there are different factions within the Army all wanting their turn at the trough.

Ally that prospect and add the students as well and the mix is IMHO more volatile.

What was done in the 70s will be a lot harder to hide from the world today.
