Terrible.

You can hardly follow the reports.

Two Russians, one Romanian, ...

Who will be next?

With the statistics readily available to anyone that can read, why would anyone want to rent a bike for a vacation here? I guess foreigners come with their own versions of mental amulets or does the booze make them feel bullet proof?

No public transport, no real taxis.

Renting a bike or car is really the only choice on Phuket if you don't want to spend 100 USD a day on thieving taxi cartels.

RIP, if you ride then ride defensively. Tourists can be quite frankly a nuisance on the roads in Phuket when they get on scooters.

Fully agree.

I was in Phuket in 2017 with a mate and we rent a car for 3 days.

Would have cost way more to use the Mafia for the trips we did.

And a wonderful route from the airport along the west coast (not the race track).

Stops here and there. Do that with Mafia.

Agreed.

It's the fact they drive too defensively. They don't flow with the speed of the traffic.

They hold up traffic trickling along at 20kph.

Going slow doesn't guarantee your safety.
