You may be right in that it’s made up, given this particular sources continual lying and deception

No, what I meant was the bit about Trump asking Abe to nominate him was made up , Abe would neither confirm or deny that he had nominated Trump .

The bit about Trump making the request seems to have been made up , as it was stated as such in an article in the Huffington post by an unnamed person

A solution to stop NK firing rockets in the direction of Japan , would be to get all parties , USA , Japan , South Korea , North Korea to all sit around a table , give North Korea assurances and guarantees  that no Country will attack them and thus they do not need any missiles and no need to carry out any tests  .

And that is what Donald did

Lol.... after the fact.... because of the fact.

meanwhile, NK has now gotten enough bargaining power to force the US to come to terms, which is what Donald is doing.... whilst NK continues with its program according to all the monitoring agencies

lol again.... worth mentioning is that Donald doesn’t believe his intelligence organisation, so he’s probably comfortable in his own belief that he’s winning.... but all he’s done is guarantee that no one will attack NK, or rather, that the USA specifically (as they are the only ones in a position to do so) will not attack NK.... and... he’s stopped or reduced the much despised war games in Korean territory.

take a bow mr Kim.

You are mistaken , USA and NK are tot technically at war , you must be thinking of North & South Korea .

NK & SK are taking steps to end their hostilities , slowly but surely .

NK were just doing what they had always done , now that USA and NK are on friendly terms , they have now stopped doing what they had always done .

The framework for a peaceful solution to the hostilities has been set and further agreements are in the pipeline , Donald is just waiting for the next USA elections , before things progress further .

Agreed... technically was a word too far... I should have said “ for all intents and purposes” or similar.

SK effectively abrogated it’s sovereignty to the USA during the Korean War, with the armistice being signed by the USA, NK and Chinese representatives only.... not by a SK representative

meanwhile... the framework you mention has been established before in one form or another.... nothing new here... nothing to warrant ringing bells and blowing whistles.... and certainly nothing worth awarding a peace prize for.

That said, who knows, maybe A45 will eventually bring about denuclearization, in which case it certainly will be noteworthy, but we are a long way away from that, so talking about a prize for doing something not yet done is... well... trumpian.

The previous agreements were made and broken during the Cold war , when there were clear divisions between the East and West , with the Iron curtain and the Berlin wall and NK had allies in Russia and China .

The whole World has changed since then and NK can no longer rely on Russia and China for full support , NK faced World isolation and coming out from the cold was their only option .

All previous agreements were made by other parties , Kims dad .

This is a different generation .

Some people seem to want it to fail , for the sole purpose that they dont want Trump to be successful

And some people proclaimed the Singapore negotiations to be a success. And believe it's a good idea for a head of state to be involved in extremely preliminary negotiations. Even if that head of state is someone who is congenitally incapable of admitting he's made an error. And then there are his die-hard supporters, who repeatedly endorse this delusion.

The "extremely primitive negotiations" were carried out previously in private meetings between representatives .

Both heads of state would be required to sign the vague agreements , otherwise they would be worthless .

Otherwise they would be worthless? No otherwise about it. They are worthless. North Korea has actually accelerated its manufacture of nuclear weapons.

Well this might not please everybody. The last Nobel was given out as some sort of participation prize to Obama, who to be fair to him, seemed puzzled as to why he received it, before invading half the middle east. This time it would be very well deserved. Trump has defeated ISIS, made peace with North Korea, has a firm grip on the tyrants in Iran, generally just done everything he can to ensure world peace. Trump has done more for women and minorities in America than anybody before him. What a great man. Even if the Nobel committee choose some virtue signalling nobody over Trump, at least the history books will hold him in high esteem.

Give Trump his Nobel peace prize and start to restore the damaged image of Nobel.

Nowhere does it say that Trump asked Abe to be nominated.

Confirmed nor denied is not the same as not true.

The previous agreements have been on and off, continually, during the last thirty years.... not “made and broken during the Cold War” as you purport, mainly because they could no longer rely on Cold War friends

https://www.cfr.org/timeline/north-korean-nuclear-negotiations

so.... the world “has changed since then” is a non starter, as Obama’s crew were the last to have a crack at sorting this.... and they are still as isolated as ever, but still progressing their aim to be a nuclear player.

but... you are right that this is Kim’s first outing, which in no way suggests it will be his last... maybe it will, maybe it won’t, but history suggests it’s just a game to them, and facts point towards Kim playing the same game as his father.... ie... US intelligence suggests that Kim is still actively working on his defense systems.

maybe your claim that some wish this to fail to deny trump a success, is true, but this should not surprise, as denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula will be a plus for his re election, which would suck, but that’s a different topic

this topic is about trump being nominated for a peace prize for something that has not been done.... and may never be done in his lifetime. If the deal gets done, then by all means, make the nomination, even if it’s awarded post humorously... but dang, the deals gotta be done first, and it ain’t done yet.... all we have is another pause, to add to the previous pauses, with intelligence that NK is continuing as before, yet again.

Dude... I’m sorry if my finding some of this funny, upsets... but... c’mon... some of this is laughable.

the Kim/trump agreement is so vague as to be worthless, regardless of signatures. It’s nothing more than a vague pledge to act in good faith towards disarmament.... a pledge which has already been broken, according to intelligence sources.

On verifiable denuclearisation, and lifting of sanctions, give trump an award.... until then, it’s a self serving joke to enhance his popularity and a stunt to improve his chances of re election, just like building a wall

The post that I found amusing, did indeed illicit a chuckle... I’m sorry if that upset... but it was funny. I will decease with humor, going forward.

and... I will remove my laughing emoji from the post where you rather adroitly sidestepped a swipe at Donald’s lying nature.
