Haso
Hello all. I have been living in Thailand for 10 years on a retirement visa with my Thai partner .. not legally married.. and her daughter 13 years old by a previous marriage to a Canadian man who is deceased. I fully support them. I would like to adopt her daughter. Has anyone been through this process before sucessfully and might be able to advise me or should I put it in the too hard basket. I have read a lot on Google but unable to locate information on the procedure. Cheers.
FritsSikkink
Marry your partner, why would she give up her rights so you can adopt?

You have to be married to legally adopt, she is already sort of a adopted step daughter and you have been here 10 years and the daughter is 13 years old now so why now. cooked
I believe that there are age limitations if you wish to adopt.

Non-Thai applicants are expected to be legally married.
