Depressed out-of-work chef found hanged

PHUKET: A chef depressed after losing his job in the fall in tourism late last year was found hanged at his rented room in Wichit yesterday (Feb 19), where he lived with his long-term partner and his 10-year-old child.

 

Capt Weerachat Sira of the Wichit Police was called to the room, located in a housing estate near Suan Luang Rama IX park, at 4:20pm.

 

Officers arrived with a medical team from Vachira Phuket Hopital and Kusoldharm rescue workers to find the body Somnit Phramnu, 38, from Nakhon Sri Thammarat, on the floor inside the basic accommodation.

Do you know how hard it is to find even a fairly decent chef willing to work in this country?  I could get him a job in 2 days tops.  Too late now but at least he didn't go American crazy and get a gun and shoot up his old restaurant.

As Taco said, lots of jobs for a good chef, maybe he was temporarily depressed about his last job, loss of face etc. what he certainly was, was being selfish, he has a 10 year old child who will now not only be fatherless but will have a far lower standard of living. Suicide is OK if you are suffering great pain with a terminal illness, otherwise, there is always a way out.
