Visa Run tour from Rayong to Cambodia

Recommended Posts

One way to do it:

  • Bus to Chanthaburi
  • Mini-Bus to Ban Laem border-point (did not leave from the bus-station when I did this - but a tuk-tuk at the bus station took me to where that mini-bus leaves - I think it was behind BigC)
  • Cross to Cambodia there and return the same way

There may be a mini-bus that goes direct from Rayong to this crossing, but the way to find it may be on your return-trip - asking around the parking-area at the border crossing to find a van that goes direct, then getting a business-card from them for future use.

You could also do the run via the crossing further south to Koh Kong, but the Cambodian-side there is not friendly, so best to get an e-Visa for Cambodia, first, if going that way.  An e-Visa cannot be used to enter Cambodia at Ban Laem.

Thank you for replying, Bartman1369, over here can, JackThompson.

I try to do as like as it, if I will not be able to find tour agent company.

Thank you very much.

If I will do it by myself, I should get Cambodian e-visa too.

I hope someone knows of a visa-run company operating direct from those locations.

The closest I can get you: Rayong is a short bus ride from Pattaya (www.iloveyellowbus.com), and there are several Visa-Run companies which operate from there.  I always did my runs alone, but a web-search on 'Pattaya visa run Cambodia' brings up many options.

the 2 crossing pong nam ron and ban laem near to chanthaburi do not take e-visas, mini buses run from chanthaburi to pong nam ron, for the Thai's using the casinos, i dont think you will get one from Rayong to the border.

Please tell me if

anyone know of a company doing a Visa Run to Cambodia from Rayong or Ban Chang?

Or can I find a company doing it in

Banphe ?

I ‘m find travel agency .

If you prefer using a visa run company, I would try phoning the Pattaya companies, and see if one of them is willing to pick you up somewhere en route to the border. They will be passing through Rayong.

Probably require an overnight stay as most operate an early start from Pattaya. Five Star and 1st Class are 2 of the well known ones and operate a more comfortable mini-bus with fewer seats.

2,000 baht for a driver to send you from Rayong to Pailin, wait an hour for you and send you back to Rayong.

You walk across the border yourself and back to the car waiting at Thai side.

Remember to buy a bottle of whiskey and a carton of cigarette on your way back from Pailin.

Fetch you at 9am and you will be back about 3pm.

Is this 2000 baht included Cambodian visa?

So I showed some sign around Banphe about two years ago, that said “visa run tour 2000 baht, including Cambodian visa fee”

Cambodian visa is 35usd, but converts to about 1,500 baht at their exchange rate, you could insist that you pay the 35 usd, but you will be messed around, then another couple of hundred baht for the not staying overnight charge, so i would think the 2,000 baht would just be for the vehicle.

A Cambodian visa on arrival costs US$30. It is an eVisa (applied for online) that costs US$35 plus a service fee, and cannot be used at Ban Pakard.

There is no reason why you cannot get the official price for the visa. Be quietly confident, friendly, but insistent. Your mindset should be "I know you need to try to get more money, and I bear no malice for you trying, but I would like the correct price please". You must have clean US$ bills to achieve this. In addition to the visa fee, you are likely to be asked for a fee for same day return. Officially, when entering Cambodia by land, you are supposed to stay overnight. It is harder to avoid paying this than extra money for the visa. If you need to pay, 200 baht is enough.

2,000 baht for a taxi to/from Rayong and Ban Pakard/Phsa Prum seems about right, depending on your negotiating skills. Public transport would be much cheaper, of course, but more time consuming.

Yes, just taxi alone. Using a toyota vios/altis with a driver that speak almost zero english. Actually it's a car rental company at Rayong thapma and car rental is 1,300 baht per day. With driver to send and fetch you to/from pailin is 2,000 all in including VAT/petrol.

Just for clarity - Pallin is not on the border - is the nearest significant town on the Cambodian side within 30 mins or so of two different crossing-points, Ban Packard and Ban Laem.  Reports seem to indicate Ban Packard is likely have a faster queue.

Hello.
Please help me urgently!!
Now I’m finding tour agent company for visa run to Combodia from Rayong.
I’m finding recently information.
Because Christies office has closed.
Just an FYI, I'm stuck in Cambodia for 2 reasons.

I'm on a Non O based on marriage. When I came back from Malaysia in December they airport immigration at Don Muang never stamped my passport although they stamped the TM 6.

Also they're saying you can't go to Poipet and return on the same day. So looks like I'm spending the night in Cambodia.

Nothing new in that for Poi Pet. Many reports of that happening.

Not sure the stamping error is the reason for it.

That is the same crossing. The spelling for the actual checkpoint seems to vary. I have seen it spelled Ban Pakad and on the map the coordinates you posted leads to it is spelled Banpuggard. Palin is the name of the Cambodian province you cross to.

I used to use the Ban Laem crossing years ago (2005/2006) and it was super easy, even when I went by myself.

I used to use 5 Star visa (https://fivestarvisaruns.com/) but after a few trips I started doing the runs myself (paying a friend to drive me to the border and back) as the process as so simple.

Going alone also meant I could leave later, arrive after all the "visa run" companies were gone and stop along the way to eat/shop at my leisure. Probably cost me about the same by the time I paid the driver and bought the fuel though.

I'd suggest contacting 5 Star (or 1st Class - http://www.1stclassvisaruns.com/) and seeing if they'd agree to pick you up/drop you off along the way at a designated location (like a PTT station). Key Visa apparently does runs as well (https://www.keyvisathailand.com/cambodia-visa-runs/) but it looks like maybe what they do is book you on a run being done by another company (maybe).

We went through Rayong (highway 36 to Highway 3, over to Chanthaburi and then north on highway 317) both ways every time.
You can turn East on the 3193 and go to the Banpuggard Border Checkpoint or go up a bit more then take the the 3210 East to the 3193 and then onto the 4033 to the border (it's not as hard as it sounds).

Of course the Visa Run company will have it's own route depending on which crossing they are going to, but they should all transit through Rayong at least.

Yes, the driver called it pailin so I assumed that was it. The car parked at the open area carpark just beside the checkpoint and I walked across the border. Visited the first casino and played few hands of sicbo. Cross the road and bought a bottle of Jack Daniel's No.27 Gold (1,800 Baht) and a carton of Dunhill (350 Baht). Walk back the same way and back in the car just under 1 hour.

Oh yes, I paid 300 baht at cam checkpoint for not staying the night.
